Designed to Win

When you decide to pursue a goal or a desire, you will be tested. For this reason, you will need to decide from the beginning that you refuse to walk away from your desire. You will also need to decide that you will win before the battle even begins. Are you willing to endure temporary discomfort as you pursue your dream, desire or goal? It is important to understand that success requires tenacity. As you strive to take your life to the next level, it is very likely that you will encounter obstacles and setbacks. You might even have thoughts of inadequacy and feel like giving up. Maybe you feel like you are putting forth effort, but you are not seeing the results that you had hoped. Sometimes impatience is simply a deterrent that takes your eyes off of your goal. Think about it, winners have a laser focus. Therefore, a single distraction can take you off course. I want you to know today that you have what it takes to win. In fact, you were designed to win. Do not settle for mediocrity. Dream big and affirm your strength. When you feel as though you have given all that you have to give, give some more. You have come too far to turn back now. With the right vision and the right plan, you are unstoppable. Revise your plan if you need to, but never abort your mission. This week I challenge you to get out there and pursue your greatest desire. You will always win, because you were designed to win! Until next week…..

How to Win on a Weekly Basis

Now that we all are inspired and seeking various ways to go beyond the initial dream of achieving our goals, it is time to make things happen! How? Well, what if I told you there’s more?

Introducing to you all here at expectingvictory.comWinning on Wednesdays. We are all here because we #expectvictory, right? Join us each Wednesday for tips and inspiration to win in life bit by bit each day. It all begins with a step forward. Start small and add more as you get stronger and become better with time.

After reading Dr. Jessica Houston’s post, “5 Inspirational Quotes to Live By,” I am most inspired by both quotes four and five. From personal experience, Michaelangelo hit the nail on the head when he said, [custom_blockquote style=”red”]The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but it is too low and we reach it. [/custom_blockquote]

This quote then ties into Dr. Houston’s, [custom_blockquote style=”red”]Never let your past mistakes cause you to doubt your future.[/custom_blockquote]

For myself, I have big dreams of breaking out of the norm, but then I began to question how to make it happen. Referring to Dr. Houston’s post, “Going Beyond Inspired,” I have also talked myself out taking action and in return, aimed low and of course I missed achieving my goals. Past mistakes often times can cause much doubt and resentment, but we can’t allow perfectionism or societal pressures to suppress us into remaining inside the box.

Whatever it is that makes you a little uncomfortable, but will benefit you in the end; I challenge you and myself to do those things. These things are going to propel us to another level of our lives. It may be uncomfortable at first, but we all will discover greater success and joy on a new level that we would not have obtained had we remained the same.

I am here to #expectvictory and I will. You can, too! Here’s to the new Winning on Wednesdays here at expectingvictory.com!

Which quote from the last post are most inspired by? What are you doing this week to take action? Connect with family, friends, coworkers and/or colleagues to move forward together. Let’s see how far we can go this year!

Please do not just read these quotes and be inspired. I challenge you to apply these inspirational quotes to your life and strive to grow and learn every single day.

Going Beyond Inspired

Have you ever been inspired by someone who has accomplished a goal that you would like to accomplish? Perhaps they reached their weight loss goal, went back to school or turned their passion into a business. Did you momentarily think about making a bold decision that would bring you closer to your goal but ultimately ended up talking yourself out of it? I cannot speak for you, but I have been there more times than I would like to admit. I would feel the urge and inspiration to act, but self-doubt and fear would step in. I would then begin asking the following questions: “How am I going to find the time or extra money to make it happen?” “Am I disciplined enough?” “Where do I begin?”

If you truly desire results, you must be willing to go beyond “being inspired.” In fact, you must be willing to work hard, move out of your comfort zone and act upon your desire. It is great to become inspired, but inspiration alone is not enough. Simply stated, if you want results, you must take action. Without action, it is very unlikely that you will make your dream a reality. Is there something that you have been dreaming about? This week, I challenge you to go beyond being inspired. In addition to setting a specific goal, set a specific time frame for accomplishing your goal. Do not wait until you believe that the time is right. In fact, the right time is “right now.” Decide that you will take action today. Until next week…..

Positioning Yourself for Victory

Are you willing to go beyond familiar territory in order to reach the next level? Positioning yourself for victory requires that you be willing to leap out of your comfort zone into new territory. It also requires that you seek out and surround yourself with next level thinkers. Next level thinkers are not afraid of sacrifice and hard work. They understand that victory requires a carefully executed plan of action. Sometimes when you put yourself out there and decide to pursue something extraordinary, you begin to feel as though you have taken on too much. At this juncture, it might be tempting to give up. It might be tempting to go back to familiar territory. However, you must be confident in your abilities and stay in the game, if you expect to be victorious.

Growth stretches you, so growing is not always easy. In fact, although the end result of growth is rewarding, the process can be uncomfortable. Are you willing to persist through fear, rejection, disappointments and setbacks?  As you journey towards growth and success, you are likely to experience one or more of the aforementioned tests. Individuals who position themselves for victory are confident in their abilities and they are determined to win. You cannot be victorious without confidence and determination. When you are pursuing victory, wisdom is a great asset, but it is not a necessity. You can have great wisdom. However, if you do not have determination and a strong work ethic, wisdom is useless. The urge to quit often becomes strong when you are close to reaching your goal. Push beyond what you believe is the most that you have to give. Do not just dream about victory….Make It Happen!

The Three Keys to Winning

Is there an area of your life that you would like to take to the next level? When you have a challenge, you must decide that you will keep pressing forward until you win. We all want to be winners. However, everyone is not willing to do what it takes to be a winner. It is extremely unlikely that a victory will be handed to you. For this reason, you must be willing to put in the work. If you want to win, the three practices below must be a component of your game plan.

Key #1: Self-Discipline
A winner must have self-discipline. You might struggle with self-doubt, feel overwhelmed, or feel like giving up. However, it is imperative that you are disciplined enough to stay the course. You must also be disciplined enough to let go of self-defeating habits. Remember, there is no success without sacrifice. In order to get what you want, you must be willing to give up something. Moreover, you must be disciplined enough to stay committed to your vision.

Key #2: Accountability
In order to win you must hold yourself accountable. You cannot give 50% and expect to see the results that only appear when you give 100%. In addition to holding yourself accountable, find a coach, mentor, or an accountability partner. Think about it actors, professional athletes, singers, and so forth have coaches and mentors. When you have someone holding you accountable, you are much more likely to stay on track.

Key #3: Determination
When you encounter a challenge, determination is critical. Without determination, you will not have the will power needed to win. Determination enables you to persist through challenges, obstacles, and setbacks. When you are determined, you ultimately position yourself for a victory.

What is your greatest challenge? What is your greatest opportunity? Decide today that you will win. This week, I challenge you to have a winning mindset. Think about what it will feel like when you reach your goal. As you prepare for your ultimate victory, remember the three keys above. Until next week…
