I’m in Winnipeg Canada right now getting ready to train over 1300 educators, administrators and support personnel. As I reflect upon all that I have encountered while pursuing my vision, I sat back and pondered about how I managed to press through so many unexpected challenges. When God gives you a vision, he rarely gives you the details. So, while you know where you desire to go, you don’t have a step by step blueprint. Even if you do, it is your blueprint. Trust me, I believe in planning, but I have been around long enough to understand that you will encounter a few surprises as you journey towards fulfilling your destiny.
If I had to give a really brief answer to the question that I pondered this morning, it would be determination. Of course it takes more than determination to achieve a big goal, but without determination, your chances of success are slim. I know without a doubt that I am here because I refused to give up, even when I REALLY wanted to.
It is when you feel tired, frustrated and ready to throw in the towel that you literally determine whether or not you will achieve that big goal that you have set for yourself You are going to have challenges, experience rejection and wonder if your dream is worth it. I can tell you that it is worth it. And guess what, I have not arrived yet! I have not even experienced a fraction of what God has in store for me and neither have you!
Walking in your purpose causes a disruption in your normal “life pattern” and attracts opposition. So, if you have encountered opposition lately, you are on the right path. What I need you to understand is that the right path is rarely the easy path. Your new path might require that you leave an unhealthy relationship, return to school, change careers or even start a business. When you get clarity on your purpose and your vision, you will be filled with excitement and ambition. However, there will come a point where you will have to experience discomfort. There will be obstacles, rejection and disappointment. However, instead of complaining about your discomfort, I am challenging you to embrace it. Growth and discomfort are team members. They work closely together. Your discomfort indicates that you are growing and experiencing something that you have not experienced before. When your challenge seems too tough for you, it is just right for God.
As you begin to walk in your purpose, you will see your circle become smaller than it has ever been. At this juncture, you begin to wonder if your vision is worth it. Let me answer that question for you- It Is Totally Worth It! Do not water the seeds of doubt that have been planted in your mind in an attempt to get you to abort your vision. Listen Closely-Never accept criticism or advice from someone who has never done what you are attempting to do. You might not have all of the money you need to reach your goals, but press forward anyway. You might not have all of the support that you would like to have, but press forward anyway. Finally, you probably have a ton of questions, and not enough answers. At this point, you know what to do next….press forward anyway. Keep pressing towards the mark, those who achieve their goals all have one thing in common- they refuse to give up. When you have passion and a burning desire to enhance your lifestyle, you will always encounter opposition. If a desire is placed in you, it can be fulfilled! Don’t get discouraged when you are stretched, you are being equipped for something greater!!! Until next time…..
Is it possible that your freedom is tied into someone else’s deliverance? It may sound strange, but unfortunately this is very common. If there is someone in your life that you want to see set free from bondage, it probably feels like a burden. You wonder, why they don’t see that they are heading down a path of destruction. It’s clear to you and everyone else, but they have probably gotten so comfortable in their situation that they are ok if they are never set free. Now, when they hit a rough patch, they may come to you for help or guidance, but it won’t be long before they are right back where they started.
Unfortunately, your begging, pleading, crying and even telling them what can happen if they don’t change will not move them. At this point, you must make a decision. Do you continue carrying their burden or do you release it? You cannot hold yourself responsible for the decisions made by an adult. If you are not careful, you will begin to feel like their situation has not changed, because you should be doing more. If you have reached this place, it is decision time. Are you utilizing your time, energy and resources wisely? Your health and well-being are very important. Are you putting your own health at risk? I’m challenging you to pull back and start praying for that person to DESIRE change. Some burdens are not meant for you to carry. When you release what has been weighing you down, you ultimately set YOURSELF free. Until next time….
When was the last time you pushed yourself further than you thought you were capable of going? Well, let me tell you, Just like I encourage my clients to stretch themselves, I have a duty and an obligation to do the same thing. Why? Because if you never stretch yourself, you will never know what you are capable of achieving. When I became an entrepreneur, television was not in my game plan, but I realize that God’s vision is ALWAYS bigger than our vision.
Over the last few years, I have been featured on countless television and radio shows. BUT, I have never hosted a show. Guess what, that ended just a few days ago. I was thinking, Jessica what have you gotten yourself into? However, I understand that sometimes we can be too logical. You have to stop leaning on what you think you can’t do and start focusing on what God said that you CAN do! I just said something right there.
