A common thread among those who are successful is persistence. Individuals who are afraid to fail never get started and therefore they never have an opportunity to succeed. Embracing the possibility of failure can be difficult. However, if by chance you do not receive the outcome that you anticipated, understand that success requires determination. When you fall short of your goal, this is a sign that your strategy needs to be revised. Therefore, it is imperative that you go back and find out what did not work. If you succumb to fear and self doubt, you will ultimately forfeit your opportunity to be successful. After you have evaluated what went wrong, be sure to go back and develop a better plan. Finally, implement your new and improved plan based on what you have learned through your initial attempt.

Persisting beyond failure means that you must acknowledge the failure, analyze what did not work and make an intentional decision to move forward. Remaining in defeat mode will not improve your chances of moving forward. In fact, when you focus on the problem and not the solution, you will not be productive. It is important that you remember why you are committed to your vision. If your vision is of value to you, eliminate distractions and remain focused on your ultimate goal. Those who succeed are not necessarily fearless they just decide that they will not succumb to their fears. A past failure does not determine your future outcome. You cannot go back and change what has already occurred. However, you do have the power to create an amazing future. Failure is only permanent if you quit. Remember that you can always persist beyond a failure. Until next week….
